Why would a 53 year old Heating and Cooling Contractor with NO previous retail or book selling experience open a Christian bookstore? Because "God told him to". Praises Family Books and Gifts is the result of Carl "Bud" Blevins being faithful to God's calling. Praises opened on October 7, 1991 with 1,400 square feet of selling space. Currently the store has expanded twice and offers a wide assortment of Christian merchandise from home school material to the latest rap CD. Praises' mission statement is "matching the Resource to the need". Current management staff members are: Jeff Dunn Chuck Reisinger Joshua Woods
