Michael Carroll is an artist and writer whose
books include Visions of the Revelation,
Spinning Worlds, Volcanoes and Earthquakes, and Lightning & Rainbows. His articles and science
paintings have appeared in various periodicals
including Astronomy, Popular Science,
Smithsonian, Time, Weekly Reader, Newton, and
Sky & Telescope, and he has provided book
illustrations for authors Carl Sagan, Arthur C.
Clarke, Gilbert Morris, and Steven Lawhead, among
others. Michael received his bachelor of fine
arts from Colorado State University.
His book, Absolutely Awesome:
The Things God Has Made (co-authored with his wife, Caroline), serves as a personal
devotional as well as a tool for outreach.
Michael's work reaches Christians with a message
to embrace the sciences because the Bible tells
us that God's creation points directly to Him.
Michael explains, "There are very few good
science books on the market today, and the ones
targeted to the age group of 8 to 13 are
simplistic. There are good devotionals out
there, but none take the Romans 1 theme that we
can understand the nature of God by the creation
around us. This devotional showcases God's
spectacular universe using solid scientific
concepts, and combines the things we learn from
nature with spiritual truths of the Bible."
Michael, Caroline, and their two children
live in Littleton, Colorado, and enjoy travelling
to Iceland, Hawaii, or any Pacific Ocean
beach.
